Praeis (It'll Pass)

The story of "Praeis" takes place in Lithuania in the early 2000s and follows Ada and her father as they smuggle cigarettes. As the narrative progresses, we learn about their complicated relationship.

In pre-production, I was in charge of designing and making cigarette packaging that was heavily influenced by original designs from Eastern European nations such as Ukraine, Russia, Poland, and Bulgaria from the 2000s and earlier. Some of them were nearly identical on purpose in order to generate a feeling of familiarity among viewers. I also assisted with the creation of additional graphic design elements, such as newspaper inserts.

On set, I worked as an art director/art assistant, helping with set dressing, prop handling, and supporting the production designer with different duties.
