Middle C

Middle C is a smaller budget project I took part of in March 2023. Despite it's small budget, it was an incredible experience, as the theme of the movie evolves around nostalgia of childhood and therefore working on Production Design was like a dive into my own childhood days. Me and other crew members took inspiration from our own childhood pictures and memories and I ended up implying the ideas and well-known elements into production design and costumes in the film. The goal was to create dreamy sweet look of child's world that changes because of the misunderstanding that occurred in her life that therefore becomes a sign of her growing up.

It was important to create a relatable atmosphere, using toys and decor that many of people my age can relate to. As the inspiration for the film came from director's personal story, I implemented a lot of what she herself had in her childhood as a base for production design. In some parts of the film the main character is seen wearing clothes or using specific props that are exact same as from director's childhood. That idea combined well with low budget as many of the props and costumes were bough second hand, most of the time being authentic pieces from the past.
